Social Media: The College Perspective

Updated: Jun 12, 2023

I started working with Stone Media Consulting in June of 2013 and so far it has been an enlightening experience. I have learned an array of tactics on how to represent a company from a social media standpoint. As a college student currently and a journalism major, almost every single one of my classes has discussed social media and the impact it has on our lives from a cultural and economic level. This job has provided me with an inside look of using social

I have always been a fan of Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram especially since if you don’t have at least one of those three media outlets then people give you a strange look when you reveal that information like you are some sort of alien. In this day and I age I strongly believe that having a Facebook page or Twitter account is highly important not only for social interaction but to also better reach customers and clients in a more personal area.

Email is thing of the past for my generation. The main form of communication that I personally use is text messaging or Twitter. In fact I get most of my news from Twitter by following the Associated Press account or just seeing other people’s tweets about the death of a celebrity or the passing of laws in other states for example. Social media is a big part of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
